An Expedition Called Life

Vibrant Colours.  It’s hard to match the amount of vibrant colours you find in the forests of Algonquin Park around Thanksgiving.  Everywhere you looking could be a painting or a photograph.

Head Lake Sunset.  Our first night on the Highland Backpacking Trail had us camping on Head Lake with a great sunset!  There is really nothing like Algonquin in the fall.

The Bridge.  Here is the little bridge near the outset of the Highland Backpacking Trail, spanning a little river/waterfall.  A nice sight to see on the way back after 35km in 2.5 days.

Break Time. Half way through day one and on a lunch break atop the ridge overlooking the Highland Backpacking Trail.  Looked like the perfect spot!

Pink & Purple.  Our second night in Algonquin on the Highland Backpacking Trail was spent on Provoking Lake and at the end of the day we were greeted by this gorgeous landscape at dusk.  Nothing like a Moosehead and a great sunset after a 15km hike.

Outlook. This is one of the first nice landscapes you see hiking the Algonquin Highland Backpacking Trail.  Not the clearest line of sight, but definitely a great perspective and it provides some anticipation of what’s still to come!
